Since its founding in 2008, Red Bird has had one primary focus: collecting and curating all of the quality local foods around Rochester and showcase them to the Fairport community. Red Bird's founder, Julie Stolze, retired in 2017, but not before training a successor. LuAnn Trapatsos spent years working at the store before taking the reins, and considered Julie more than just an employer, but a mentor. She carries the same Red Bird spirit with her as its owner and manager.

Red Bird stands apart from the bigger box stores by housing unique hard-to-find products that you may never have heard of otherwise. The friendly staff is always there to offer recommendations, so don't be surprised if you find your new fave when you least expected it.

Red Bird also offers its own old fashioned peanut butters that are a huge hit with the locals for both its quality and the huge variety of unique flavors. White chocolate, cappacino, lemon, and butter pecan sit beside other more conventional varieties, each one more delicious than the last.

Despite the amazing variety and innovation offered at Red Bird, LuAnn still takes comfort in the classics. Asked about her favorite dish, she remarks "Friday night tradition is scrambled eggs, home fries, white dry toast and burnt bacon at The Landmark Diner". It's a good reminder that whether you're looking for something new or something familiar, Red Bird Market has your back.

Check out Red Bird Market for yourself, and let us know what you think of the peanut butter!
